Day 3

We learned hydrating your Big Momma is really important.  So we fed her "happy meals"...eggs, milkshakes (a canine protein version), homemade broth and cheese to supplement her normal food.

Day 2

This morning we remembered what having infants in the house is like...sleepless nights are tough on everyone!  Tess was up every hour caring for her babies.  She is a good mom and has really taken to this naturally, it is amazing.  She feeds them in shifts, 6 sleep while 5 eat etc...We are in awe of her skill and gentle nature.  We couldn't be more proud of Tess or love her more this morning!

Day 1

Friday, July 29th - Birth started at dawn.  Tess was in labor all night...pacing and panting and trying to get comfortable.  Andrew and I were there to assist her for the first 7 which were all born by 11am.  Then the eighth little one came while Andrew was getting ready to leave for a meeting.  We thought all of the pups were born.  While I was on the phone talking with the vet, the ninth pup was born and then the tenth.....and then finally around 3 pm number 11 was born and Tess was exhausted!
